It was cold and gloomy out today, the kind of day where you want to snuggle with an afghan and a good book.
The incentive to go out because of the weather was not as great as yesterday and I knew I needed an alternative because this is only day two of training for the half marathon.
I decided to go to the gym and run on the treadmill, which once again, while I was running put a smile on my face.
I figured it would be easier to run on the treadmill than outside and found that to be true. Nevertheless, here is how it turned out.
I warmed up for 5 min.
Ran for 40 min. at speeds between 4.8-5.2
Did a 5 min. cool down.

Total minutes on the treadmill=50 minutes
Distance traveled=3.25 miles

I ran today for endurance, how long will i be able to go was the question in my head as I got on. I ran for 12 min., stopped for some water, then started up again. Decided I didn't like pausing the treadmill, so just decreased the speed when i needed some H2O and found that to work well. I kept on running and running and it felt good! I even hiked the speed up to 5.5 2 times for 2 minutes duration each time.
I had to smile when the WW Walking CD came on my shuffle with the upbeat Latin music that helped me keep going and gave me instruction and motivation.
Unfortunately, i found myself only in the heart range for 11 minutes of running time-something I'll have to work on.
Tomorrow is a rest day (per the schedule I'm following), so check back on Saturday and in the meantime remember: "When you put a limit on what you will do, you have put a limit on what you can do" (Charles Schwab)
