Looking for a healthier meal? If so, it doesn't start at home, it starts in the grocery store.
When you're shopping be sure to take your phone (with WW app to check points) or your
calculator with you. Along with that, have a pen or black marker.
Say you're trying to decide if you should purchase the oatmeal or the cereal. Take a minute to calculate the PPVof each along with checking out the amount of sodium and fiber in each (remember, we want to be satisfied/full when we're done eating).
Figure the PPV of each item, believe me, when you see the oatmeal comes to 4PPV along with the amount of fiber in it that will help you decide quickly which one you're going to buy:).
Finally, write the PPV of the purchased food on the nutrition label before it goes in your cart. (this saves a step later when you get home).
Oh yes, remember also, shop the perimeter of the store, leave those inside isles empty....they hold
a lot of our trigger foods such as chips, cookies, etc. which are just empty calories.
Drop us a line and let us know how this worked for you and have a great day!!
See you at the meeting:)
Janice
